some slight modifications to the amp kits werer made to change the gain and input impedance to get better results but pretty much the kits are stock with no circuit changes needed i used
2 x Maplin stereo pre-amp KIT (N47FL )
1x Maplin 1W amp kit (N48FL ) as the reverb driver
1x velleman pre-amp kit as the wet / dry mixer stage (VE21X)
very nice project, I like the pics!
Nice! Can you overdrive the spring to get those boingy transients like on old King Tubby tracks?
Cheers! . yeh its possible to over load the springs and get a good thumpinmg boing out of it, sounds a bit muddy when you do that thou its not the best sounding unit but then it not trying to be. The tank i have used is a battered cheepest version acutronics do ile put up a video when i find the cable for my camera.
Cool ! Let's have some sounds!
BTW: It's on makezine.. http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2009/08/springbox_rocks_the_reverb.html (http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2009/08/springbox_rocks_the_reverb.html)

hey nice ! i think i used the same tank in a unit ( it has a bit the same sound/decay)
but mine's much noisier.. did you shield it ? doesn't look like in the photo's..
nice project :)

yeh the spring case is connected to ground and the case of the spring drive pot (going to the 1w amp) is also connected to ground. The tone controll taken from the big muff schematic cleans up the sound a bit but you loose a little volume
