i am becoming more intuitive about this sort of thing...finally!
i made a proto and drawing for a 555 based synth. it contains the following components:
me (to touch the body contacts! lol!)
3 body contacts.
.1 uf cap
.01 uf cap
.10 uf cap
1k resistor
100k resistor
4.7k resistor
500k potentiometer
555 timer
now to get creative with a box and body contacts!
any suggestions? ;-)
OH! i have a question, if you would indulge me!
i understand the different pins of the timer chips. and since i know how to build a basic synth circuit, what about connecting two circuits on a bigger board in series? or going modular?
i assume i could connect out of the "output" pin on the timer from one, but which pin do i "input" to? the positive voltage?
this would help me to build more expanded circuits!
thanks in advance.
as i continue to experiment....
i tried this, tying two separate circuits together...a synth loosely based on atari punk console, a similar 555 timer based synth. i used a jumper to connect the two, i got a wide tonal range, based on where i connected the two!
i need to try some other ones, a cmoss based synth, an lfo using transistors and other components, etc.
advice?
at least now, i am getting more of an idea of how to either build a bigger synth, or go modular!
