Hi,
I am about to bend a few toys and I am trying to find out what basic effects I could expect to achieve. As for controlling I plan to use photoresistors, touch points, and piezos (I figure that those would make it respond to hits). I will use the built in speakers.
So I know that pitch control is likely to be found and is a good effect, but what more? What is the second default thingie? :)
Feedback? Echoish things? Looping? Random triggering? Stutter?
Thanks!
Glitching and looping if you're lucky. A whole load of different distortions if you're not so lucky.
It depends entirely on the machine in question really.
It'd be better to try potentiometers before photoresistors. If a pot works you can always wire in a LDR instead, but it'd be tricky to find bends starting with the LDR.
Thanks, and yes I figure that it's the machine's choice ultimately. But for pitch control there are some specific advices out there.
Is there any specific spot or method I could try to achieve looping?
I had this idea, what about installing a small microphone inside the case next to the speaker in order to create feedback? Maybe this has been done before?
