Hello all.... I'm new here and I like the current discussions going on... or not... very informative.... I would like to start a thread that specifies favorite bend points and techniques for the SK-1 or 5... I know it may be overdone but there are millions of possibilities for this little 80s phenom.... and everyone seems to have their own layout... so I'll try to post some info soon on my past few SKs and some links to some really helpful info.... If you wish to contribute I'm sure that everyone who's planing on bending one will be incredibly grateful... I know this may take some of the excitement out of it for some of you so if you don't want to share specific bends at least contribute with SK theory and technique....

If no one minds too terribly, I'm going to dig up this old chestnut of a thread.

I've just been poking around again in an SK-1 and found a fun bend that I hadn't stumbled upon before.  It's a little bit wonky, and only works half the time but it is pretty sweet when it does.

Looking at the first large chip and numbering from the upper left hand corner take pins 1 and 6.  Next record a sample and set it to loop.  Play a chord and connect those two points.  Either you'll get a sort of bland bend or there will be a couple of bass notes inserted into the sample.  If you trigger it after one of the bends that doubles the sample (like 1 and 4) you'll sometimes get a little cluster of notes making an accidental bass line.

There's nothing new under the sun, as it seems, so maybe this one has been found before but I hadn't happened across it in my six or seven SK-1 builds.

anyone else found the arpeggiator short on the SK5?

I found a short on the normal bending IC's a while back that started playing any notes you had held down in a kind of wierd arpeggiated sequence. It was perfectly repeatable on that machine but I've never been able to do it on any other SK5, but that could be because i haven't modded one for a while.
i am not paid to listen to this drivel, you are a terminal fool
