I'm attempting to bend a songmax hmp-139 but haven't managed to find anything so far in the way of cool or glitchy sounds.

Has anyone else here ever bent one of these and if so do you have any advice on where to start?

Thanks

i got one of these for four bucks at a local goodwill yesterday!

i am on the enthusiast level of bending....and i really want to try this, but with the advice of someone more experienced.

i'm getting a concertmate 500, cm 300 and some other odd keyboard in the mail in about a week.

well theres some infor on the HMP138 on tablehooters http://weltenschule.de/TableHooters/SongMax_HMP-138.html ,apparently its much the same thing.

To be honest it looks like a piece of crap that you might get a pitch control and maybe a distortion of two out of, but nothing in the way of glitching or anything more interesting.

oh, well, at least i only paid 4 bucks for it, no big loss...

well, i did some jumping with gator clips. there is a small IC, and i found by jumping one of the leeds to a resistor, i can get a sort of "resonant squelch". one resistor was more squelchy than another.

it is hard to read, since "r2, r3" etc are under where the resistor goes, not as concise as my phase 90 when i modded it.

i might do this bend, but it is not all that great.

i wish i could just bypass the voice bank all together on this.

i did find this site, somebody did some cool mods. i emailed him, i'm not sure if he will give his secret away or not.

it is the "agent orange" keyboard. sounds cool. he added a pitch and got some cool glitch tones.

on the homefront, mine sounds kinda cool. the only thing i can say this far i do not like, is the resonant effect is louder than the note. any way to fix this?

i will make an mp3 soon.

i messed around with this some more last night. now, there is distortion and feedback no matter how low the volume! ;-) admitedly nieave for a first project, still no small feat for a hack like myself! :-P

i am still poking around. i would like to be able to turn off that annoying little song it plays everytime i power it up. any tips?

bin it, move on  ;)

there is no moving on...no turning back. it is a work in progress. sorry for no images. next time i take it apart, i'll post images.

question...most of these "toy" keyboards have voices, such as piano, sax, organ, etc.

is there a way to bypass the "voice" on any of these, or make the voice sound more like a sine wave?

does anybody know how to disable the annoying startup song on this keyboard?
