I'm looking to start on a back up machine for my Casio SK5.

I've bent my casio and really like it.  The sounds are crucial part of my band (spiritbunny.bandcamp.com) - so I want a backup machine.

How close would a bent SK1 be to a SK5?

I use the patchbay fairly extensively to get my tones for each track.

They'll make the same basic type of tones, but probably no more similar than any two random bends on a single machine, does that make sense?

IMHO, the SK-1 is the better machine for bending anyway, on the SK-5, that dog bark gets dropped into Every. Single. Bend.

thanks.

with my SK5 sadly dying [maybe ill get it kicking again], i'm going to move all my bends (patchbay, alternate tuning, phat philter, lfo, vibrato, slow-AD] to a SK1.
