Hi.

Id like to remove the data input + & - buttons on my Yamaha PSS 680, & replace them with a Pot of some kind. A basic rotary control.

Anyone have any ideas / advice on what kind to use ?

Thanks in advance.

it could be done but it wouldnt be easy at all. i've wanted to do the same mod to my pss 480. it sure would be nice to be able to sweep through all those synth settings without having to hold the +&- buttons.

not sure about replacing the button but you can circuit bend the drum sounds. theres a chip close to the rear of the unit. shorts to this chip fucks the drum sounds! nothing to orignal just the usuall glitchy distorted tones

You could use a rotary encoder and a bit of logic to pulse either the up or down buttons, but you might well find that the debouncing on the switch contacts means you still need to turn it quite slowly.
If at first you don't succeed, stick it through a fuzzbox.
