but, i have been thinking about going to school for a degree in electronic engineering and computer science.

even though the primary motivation would not be to be a better circuit bender...but, since this sort of thing has sparked a genuine interest in electronics, i am unemployed and need the broaden my horizons, a degree in something i am interested in seems in order.

it looks as though my tuition and books will likely be paid for, as i have been checking into government programs, grants, etc.

this would too make me more proficient in building things that i want to build. i have a very vague working knowledge of electronics right now. i know what most component's functions are. but, as a guitar player and musician in general. i have always wanted to build my own effects boxes, maintain my own amplifiers, and set bias like the big boys!

school in my early 40s is a big step, as i am no spring chicken. but, this seems very exciting to me! i will have to brush up on my math, as it is a sort of weakness of mine, and trig is involved as is physics.
