Casio SA-2

i thought a while back i had fried my sa-2, but i didn't. good news! anyhow, i hooked up the "casper mods"...the 5th switch and the octave switch, as well as the power crash, and a wall wart jack.

i found an APC circuit which i had pre-soldered. i hooked it up, to make sure it worked as a tone generator. then i decided to experiment with the sa-2.

well, i ended up hooking it up before the speaker, and it worked like a VCF! so, now to tie everythingthing together...i think i'll build some sort of clever box for all this to fit into, with a control pannel.

i love using an oscillator for circuit bending. it makes the final product much more SYNTHLIKE than just adding a pot here and a switch there!

i plan to do this to ALL my toy keyboards, including my hing hon and other casios!

i did the soldering today. i may make some more discoveries before i put finishing touches on it. it looks like i need to find a way to  tie everything together and make it look like a "final product". i may make a wood cabinet for it.

almost done...i decided not to do all of the popular mods, i tried some of them and decided i do not like them.

i made a cabinet. all i have to do is paint it and put it all together.

i just did the coolest painjob i have ever done on the cabinet for this thing! it is almost as much a labor of love as my sk1 has been! photos coming soon on facebook...i'll link them to the cbuk fb forum!

Oddly enough  I've adopted a similar design (but a plain black paint scheme) for my 95% done SA-8.
