not really a bending topic, but i found one at a pawn shop for $50usd!

it has a crack in the side of the case, cosmetic blemish only, and the volume pot is broken, should be an easy fix i think.

i am trying to decide if i should sell this. it would be cool to sell it and allocate the money towards a real ANALOG synth!

i've been making some discoveries...the lfo is kinda cool, and i have been digging in, learning about the algorhythms some. fun to experiment with. you can get some analog like tones, even though there are few things you can tweek realtime.

no cart with it...

would this make any kind of midi-controller? i hace thought of doing that midi mod to the monotron, might be a good want to add keys to that.

The ONLY good thing to do with that stuff was made (25 ex.) by Jellinghaus.
Hard to build same kinda controller?

Program an external controller with some midi sysex to control the DX7, and you can make some mentally ill sounds.

At least you could with the DX21 i had connected to a Peavey PC1600 controller a while back. It turns an FM synth into some kind of lunatic noise box, as opposed to something that'll make your brain turn to cheese just by trying to understand whats going on.
i am not paid to listen to this drivel, you are a terminal fool

there is one slider you can use, when you set the parimeter or the lfo and other things. when you control the frequency. play a note and slide that, and it sounds nice and psychotic! ;-)

i dunno, i think i am going to attempt to repair the crack and replace the potentiometer, and try to sell the thing. i really want an analog synth. maybe put the money toward a dave  smith mofo? when i buy my first analog synth, i want it to be old school mono! ;-)

you can get oldschool sounds out of a dx7. it is oldschool.
analog isn't everything. download some of the old preset banks
and check out lately bass/solid bass/warm pad etc.
or sell it.

If you have a computer get fm8 it basically made the dx obsolete it's amazing I'm not a fan of soft synths but this is mind-blowing fm
