These look interesting http://www.coolcomponents.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=30_103&products_id=410

'This is a joystick very similar to the 'analog' joysticks on PS2 (PlayStation 2) controllers. Directional movements are simply two potentiometers - one for each axis. Pots are ~10k each. This joystick also has a select button that is actuated when the joystick is pressed down.'

At £2.99 i'd be a fool not to buy some. All i need to do is think of a use for them.

They also do a PCB to mount them on here http://www.coolcomponents.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=725

Those are always fun to muck around with. I used to have some guitar hero toy that I housed in a PS2 controller and had the pitch controlled by one of the joysticks. It was fun while it lasted, but it didn't last long.

I dabbled with PS2 joysticks sometime ago........very little range.
In the UK, sad but true :-)

unless you either change the pots to something bigger than 10k, or just use them in something that needs 10k in the first place?
