So its true bypass but hums like a bastard with the effect turned off and a lot less when you turn it on? Weird....

I suspect you'd have a lot more variation to the effect if you used it with a guitar rather than a bass.

Nope, which is why I want to build the huminator circuit from Beavis Audio, but as of right now I don't have all the parts for it. That'll be my next project.

If i recall correctly the huminator is pretty much the smoothing circuit of a standard regulated power supply, but without the voltage regulator.

I think i might just get a better regulated power supply, or build something like this regulated supply but with multiple 9v outputs for various pedals
