Hiya  :)

Could anyone be so helpful as to point out where the two clock sources are on the Casio RZ-1? ie the source for the rom sounds and the source for the sample sounds.

I'm guessing they're the two blue ceramic resonators on the left of the main pcb.

I've got two LTC1799 pcbs I ordered from circuitbenders ready, I'm just not confident in poking around trying to find which leg of which resonator I need to tap into.
I'm hoping to put in switches to swap between factory clock and variable, and therefore just separate one leg and keep the resonators in situe.

I'm still a bit of a novice here. I can solder stuff fine, but only by a "painting by numbers" system, I'm still finding schematics a bit baffling! 😂

Any assistance here would be much appreciated.

Managed to work it out in the end by trial and error  ;D
Those LTC1799 units are marvellous, first time installing them. It's got me thinking what can I hack the clock of next?

Once I've finished, I'll put some pics up so I'm not threadwasting.

Glad you got it working! I love those LTC1799s. I put one on a Yamaha DD-6 recently, and its great how crunchy and lowfi the samples get when pitched down. I imagine the RZ-1 is similar in that way.

any news on where do we patch in with those LTC1799s ?? :0
