Be warned, they fry easily and don't appear to have any useful bends other than adding a line in/out.

is that the purple one or the 'engerlaaaAAAaaaand' one?  I'm guessing that really, they are both the same.
I just got a purple one.  I think line in/out is all you really need.  I got a different make from a car boot sale for 50p.  I managed to find the resistor that controls the intensity of the voices.  It sounds nice.

Signal:Noise

It was the purple one, but I'm told the engerland one is identical. Might get another one to add to a keybaord as some kind of warped FX box. Was just annoying that I fried it so quickly.

I fried my first toy recently.  I won it off ebay.  Just a really shitty 'my first dj' sort of thing.  It was broken when I got it, it fixed it and then i broke it.  Oh well, £2 ain't much more than a bag of chips... I'd have preffered the chips though/

Chips are always a winner. :P ;D

And as for frying things, I killed my DD6 drum machine within three hours of getting. Not to be defeated it's being resurected as a wierd flashing light box complete with brightness controll and rate. hopefully I'll make the £4.20 I paid for it back.

signal-
did you have any trouble hooking up the line in/out on the purple voice changer?  I'm ready to set fire to mine.  it's doing my head right in.  It just doesn't want to work! works fine with the internal speaker/mic. RAR!!!!

Circuitbenders

I had some trouble with a voice changer until i soldered a low value trimmer pot across where the speaker would normally be connected as a kind of dummy speaker load. Adjusting the trimmer pot seems to set the output volume.
i am not paid to listen to this drivel, you are a terminal fool

the_zombiest

Thanks again Mr. Benders.  I thought about trying that, but i just got angry instead.

the_zombiest

that didn't seem to be the problem.  what was the problem were the cheapo non-rohs 5p jack sockets that I bought.  They work now though and so does the voice changer. HUSPAZ!

everything on that page looks like it'd bend a treat.  ;D

Shame they're all fairly pricey.

i just bent one of these -
added:

vol control
input
output
switch between speaker/out
feedback push switch (makes nuts noises when u hit this even without input :)
proper on/off switch (negates needing trigger press)

plus i know u can add these:
pitch control
volt crash

:)

the 5 switch one (makes various diff effects depending on the switch config) is really cool -
they are going for 4.99£ atm so i'd grab one - they are bloody great just as a cheap effects box :)
