A friends has let me loose on his JHS SD! drum synth, the kind of inexpensive 80's thing where the drum sound is generated by striking a foam covered plate above a speaker. The adding of a line in is fairly straight forward, but I'm at a loss for how to go about doing any modifications beyond that. Do people have any tips or guide lines for messing around with analouge gear?

I've got a really tip for modding analouge gear, don't fry any IC chips. >:(

good advice to live your life by really.
i am not paid to listen to this drivel, you are a terminal fool

Fortunately it seems that the chip in question is fairly common, so hopefully I can resurrect the bugger. You wouldn't happen to have any MC14070BCP chips lying around would you?
