I've came across a DVD/VHS combo. Any chance of bending it? I suppose the DVD player could do with some data bending if there are a couple of chips.. Maybe a pot on the VHS motor, or the reading head motor?

espgra

i saw some tv bending on youtube, but i have never seen a dvd bend, if it didnt cost you so much then bend on!
but ceep in mind that its a lot safer to bend a keyboard on batteries than a dvd player thats conected to high voltage.

I would have thought that with the amount of data that DVD players work with and the integrated-ness (is that a word ?) of the circuitry you'll be very lucky if is doesn't crash completely and probably fry if you even think about it, let alone go near it with a soldering iron.  ;D

If its a direct drive VHS player you may be in luck but in my experience anything with a belt drive tends to not have enough torque to drive the motor really slowly or in reverse. It'll probably automatically shut down the second it senses something wrong with the motor speed anyway.

On the other hand, who cares?

give it a go...........

i am not paid to listen to this drivel, you are a terminal fool
