Hey, I scored a free NES system and games a few months ago.  Wondering what projects you have seen or know that are possible.  I especially like was Casper Electronics did with it, but I prefer something more to do with audio than video.  Any ideas?  I'm also open to chiptune composition, although I have no clue when I'll have time to compose, hah.

Anyways, this is just a general NES bending thread, for whatever the project may be.  Want to show what you got?  Have a video to link?

this site has some crazy NES mods and bends with schematics and videos. audio reactive video glitches and whatnot... seems pretty sweet.

That site is the really amazing work of Phil Stearns.  Last I knew, a couple of people have tried to duplicate that circuit and the success to failure ratio has been about 50/50.

They are pretty fun, though, just to make video glitches.  And the glitches will be different for every game you use.  For instance, I bent mine with Mighty Bomb Jack in there, so the glitches, in my opinion, look best with that game but I get an entirely different palate when I run something dumb like Faxanadu or Amagon.

So yeah.  There's a few unpopular Nintendo games.

50/50?  I hardly feel confident trying to succeed at such a project then.  I guess my NES and games are gonna sit around a little longer until I find my skill level and a project idea meet head-on -- either I gain some skills, or another, more attainable application comes to mind.

Or you could just play Final Fantasy on it.
If at first you don't succeed, stick it through a fuzzbox.

I don't like NES games.  My favorite is SNES.
