Casio MT-240

This Casio is a Casiotone, whatever that means.  As of a few minutes ago, I am a proud new owner of one.  The sounds are great.

As far as the Casio MT series goes, I think those may be the most popular for bending.. and for good reason. Casper electronics does great work.

And apparently Aaron Funk/Venetian Snares uses a bent one, too ( http://tinyurl.com/dfvml7 )

Some great bends to be had with this and it has midi. As you open it up there should be a space for a chip that is missing (the chip is used on the mt-540 which is the same but with effects). Next to the missing chip space is a 40 pin ic thats the baby you want. I have added a 37 point patch bay to mine some conections are crap on some sounds but realy groovy on others totally insame amount of options. next to the 40 pin (or so) ic is a square ic with fine line conections i killed one messing with that!

Addding bends usually dissables (kills for ever) the 210 tone bank sound thing but that should not be a problem with all the new bends still available

The midi can controll up to 30 sounds (unlike 20 with the 240's buttons alone), simply use midi program messages 1-30.
It can also play 3 diifferant sounds at any one time ( 4 notes each) on midi channels 1-3 (channel 1 is the sound selected on the buttons, channels 1 and 2 are piano unless you send a midi program change on that channel.

When you use the drum loops it also sends out midi clock really usefull But it can NOT sink to incoming midi cheap casio bastards

if it looks the same (buttons in the same place etc) then i quess it is.  Radio shack did not make any keyboards they paid  casio to make them with simply a differant badge  open up the sucker and let us know ??

yEH thats a great bend  i added a 36 point patch bay which i think is a bout 621 differant combernations from one cable !!! you can also cut lines were the missing chip is but i havent perfected that yet
