Circuit bending workstation

Ive just made a Circuit bending workstation to help bend stuff quicker


1 x signal tracer (Maplin 1W amp kit) great for finding were the seperate sound sources are like drums on the sk1 etc.
1x capacitor selector 12 values from 47pf - 100uf
3x pots wired as resistors in series (4k7 - 1k - 1meg)
1x red LED

Is it something based on the casper bend finder? I thought of making one of these. What power does the led hook up to if its just 2 points? And whats the speaker for?

The LED and speaker can help you find hidden points on a circuit board that have a flow of data or power which might be useable for adding an extra audio output or you guessed it... lights.

For instance, some keyboards split the sounds and backing tracks before the reach the speaker (think of casio's that have more than one volume fader) I know that's an obvious one - other keyboards sometimes have hidden glitches and weirdness that triggers when keys or buttons are pressed - try it!

Hi, i havent seen the Casper bend finder but i guess its does the same thing. the speaker is powered by a 1w amp that simply connects to the probe's and as sinehacker says you can trace were seperated audio signals are in a circuit and wire a seperate output.
the LED has a 220-ohm resistor to ground and yeh helps find good places to wire LED's bascially and dc volatge signals etc

that is -brill- the LED thing is a very good idea too super useful!

I'm gradually designing one of these too. A thought for the LED - because diodes only work in one direction you may be missing out on some LED bends. If you have two of them in parallel, but opposite directions to each other, you will get more results or not have to test the circuit twice.

Good idea.. I've never thought of this.. I'm making one ! Yes it's going to be uglier, but it's going to so much cooler MUUAHAHAH....

does anybody make serogate boxes, to hold keyboards in place for testing, probing, etc? if so, could you share photos?
