Anyone know of any good websites that have guides or plans on building custom synthesizer cheeks for typical, boring old plastic keyboards?  I'm interested in building wooden cheek ends that would be mounted on a flat wooden board, upon which the keyboard rests (or is bolted on to)... and then attaching rubber or aluminium isolation feet to the bottom of the wooden board, thus turning a cheap, plastic toy into something more attractive and expensive looking.

A few brief Google searches didn't turn up much on the subject ???

I don't know... you tell me! That's why I'm here, isn't it? ::)

Have you ever built cheek ends into any of your own projects?

just find a nice wodden blah and use a bandsaw blah on it then pain it with the kinda paint you use on wood to tint it and there you go. I hate when i don't know the english words for things...

LOL... It's okay, I get what you're talking about.  I don't have a problem with cutting, shaping and varnishing/painting wood and all that.  I've made plenty of things in wood in the past, even built an entire MAME arcade machine for a research project in the late nineties!  So I wonder if it's as easy as bolting two pieces of wood to the keyboard or do I make a platform to bolt the pieces to and then attach the keyboard to the platform, etc.  There'd be many ways to do it, so I'm wondering which would be the best way or are there any examples out there to give me some clues.

Guess I'll keep on searching in the meantime!

why not just try it? in a way that you think will work? if it works for you, then fine, no?
sometimes the internet and google and all actually seem to slow people down instead of being that source of info it supposedly is..
