tx81z transformer hum?

not a 'bending question, but this is a good place to ask:
for all the years i've had it, the transformer on my tx has had a hum.
this isn't audible on the audio, it's a case thing.

someone told me the transformer was 'loose'...do you recognise this
problem/condition? what is the solution if that is the case?

Circuitbenders

Open it up and tighten the bolts or whatever holds the transformer in place. Or you could always take the transformer out and stick a thin bit of rubber or foam between it and the case. Or get some rubber washers to stick on the mounting screws.

Alternatively you might just need to tighten the case screws. Just tighten everything.....

Maybe try resoldering the joints too?

cheers. confirms my luddite thinkiing. thought there could be
some trick to it. how about some flexible araldite blob(sounds nasty)?
s'all good good, just cornered a vz8m for 60 squid, that i sold years
back by mistake.(thinking i'd get a vz10, but didn't)(can't quite
believe what they go for in the US...) ;p
