Has anyone ever bent one of these?

I just opened one up and the only chip is covered in black goop.

I'm guessing this is not a good sign.....  :P

I'll try and take a picture of the insides and upload it later.

'This drum kit allows you to pretty much drum away as you might with some normal drums. '
Yeah right, i'm sure it does  ;)

cheap black blob circuits usually have a resistor that controls the pitch but thats about it in my experience.
i am not paid to listen to this drivel, you are a terminal fool

Did you get anywhere with this?  I took one apart (thanks for the xmas pressie mum), instantly had to reconnect a loose power wire that broke off, and found a loose resistor where the solder hadn't stuck.  After some brief poking it crashed and went permanently glitchy and distorted for 3 days.  seems to work ok now but I haven't bothered going any further as the insides are so frail and its so fiddly to put back together!

doctea: Sounds like a really good, robust machine...  ;)

its a shame really, if the build quality was better and the cymbal and pads not so twitchy, oh and the bass drum switch easier to press, and the 'record' mode had better timing resolution/more steps... then it would be quite good!

still can't be bothered to put it back together, a spring is held in place between the circuit board and the front panel that jumps out when you open it and i can't face trying to line it up and put the screws in!
