Hi

Does anyone have any expierence with bending the Casio SA-20?

Can anyone please  tell or show me the bend points on this sucker.I have looked all over but cant find a good bend guide for it!!!

Thanks ;D ;D ;D

Isn't the SA20 just an SA1 or SA5 with 2 speakers? I'm sure all their mods will be roughly applicable.
i am not paid to listen to this drivel, you are a terminal fool

I've been surprised before by the irrelevance of information regarding one SA to another one.  At the least, the circuit boards are not all identical.

Perhaps you're referring strictly to these 3 SAs.

dimefan90

the sa20 has different circuit board, it has a smaller one that is seperate.

Alright guys i think i have this.I will post some pics in next week or so.

As stated the board is different to other sa's

There is a long thin board which is attached to the keys and a seperate smaller board that has the dc in etc.Anyways you have to unsrew the smaller board and flip it over. There you will see small jumpers like on sa1.I cut the jumper that is beside the green thing and replaced with a 470 resistor.

Im going to attempt the deep crash and low pass - will post pics when all has been done.....

It would be awesome if someone actually did a diagram of this one, relatively little information about this SA.

Hatchetjob, so you mean 470k or ohms?  Is this for the voltage drop?

I recorded a lot of stuff from this machine but nowadays it only seems to chuck out noise rather than odd melodies that it used to... I have messed about with it so much.  I would have to take it apart again to find out where I soldered wires (5-minute job?).

Use a bit of sense ;-)  470k would be *way* too much for a voltage drop.
If at first you don't succeed, stick it through a fuzzbox.

this guy is just waiting for me to get the last one of my random unfinished projects off my work table - he needs an LFO for the opposite side.  It was fun...I learned a lot while making it, but somehow managed to kill the upper quarter of my keys (?)...not sure what happened.

Having no experience with one of these, this is a pure guess.... If there is a ribbon cable connecting the keyboard section to the IC board, these can be fragile. I had a similar problem with a kids phonics/alphabet toy that had a small built in keyboard that had stopped working on the top third of the keys, due to a dodgy ribbon cable. Worth a look as it's an easy fix.

i did an lfo on mine and i LOVE it! it reminds me of a hing hon with it!  i tried a lot of the other "casper" mods, and didn't really like them. no offense to casper's genius, just not for me. it is a lot more synthlike with the lfo!

is there any way a brother could get a bending diagram on this? or even a picture of your bends.

wow! that used to be an SA-20??  :o love what you did to it, how did you get rid of and replace all those stock buttons with what looks like some sort of white panel?
